About PDF Pages

PDF Pages combines two closely related page workflows: splitting a document and extracting selected pages into a new PDF.

Common use cases

Extract only the pages you need

Create a smaller PDF containing selected pages such as a contract section, invoice page, appendix or report excerpt.

Split a long PDF into smaller files

Divide a large document into manageable parts for email, review, filing or separate distribution.

Create a custom page range

Select non-contiguous pages or a specific range when the recipient does not need the complete source document.

Prepare documents for separate workflows

Break one PDF into logical sections before uploading, signing, archiving or sharing them independently.

How it works

1

The PDF is loaded and its page count is read in the browser.

2

Extract mode builds a new PDF from the exact pages or ranges you select.

3

Split mode divides the source document into multiple smaller PDFs according to the chosen grouping.

4

The resulting document or files are created separately so the original PDF remains unchanged.

Privacy & file handling

Page operations are performed locally

The selected PDF is processed in the browser for page extraction and splitting. The source document does not need to be uploaded to Zavilo for these page-management operations.

Limitations and important notes

  • Splitting or extracting pages does not edit the content inside those pages.
  • Links, forms, annotations or advanced PDF structures can behave differently after pages are copied into a new document.
  • Encrypted PDFs may require unlocking before page operations can be completed.
  • Extracting pages reduces the document to the selected subset; keep the original when the complete record must be preserved.
