About PDF to Images

PDF to Images combines the previous PDF to JPG and PDF to PNG workflows into one page with an output-format choice.

Common use cases

Share individual document pages

Convert selected PDF pages to image files for chat, presentations, content management systems or workflows that do not accept PDF.

Extract visual material

Create JPG or PNG copies of diagrams, forms, slides or page layouts that need to be used as images.

Prepare pages for image editing

Rasterize a PDF page before cropping, annotating or processing it in an image-oriented workflow.

Export a selected page range

Convert only the pages you need rather than rasterizing the entire document.

How it works

1

The browser opens the PDF and identifies its available pages.

2

You choose JPG or PNG, select pages and set the rendering resolution.

3

Each selected PDF page is rendered to a bitmap image at the requested scale.

4

The images can be downloaded separately or together as a ZIP where the tool provides that option.

Privacy & file handling

PDF rendering happens in the browser

The selected PDF is rendered into JPG or PNG pages on the device for this conversion workflow instead of requiring a document upload to a Zavilo conversion server.

Limitations and important notes

  • Rasterized images no longer contain selectable PDF text, vector shapes or interactive PDF features.
  • Higher rendering resolution improves pixel detail but increases memory use, processing time and output file size.
  • JPG introduces lossy compression and does not support transparency; PNG is lossless but can be considerably larger.
  • Password-protected or unusually complex PDFs may not render successfully in every browser.
